Intro to 3D Printing

Join us to learn the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of the 3d printer!  You will learn the basics on how 3D printing technology works, how to find and download a CAD (computer aided design) model to 3D print, how to use slicing software (convert the CAD model to gcode to send to a 3D printer), the basic operation of a Prusa Mk3s+ 3D printer, and how to start a 3D print and troubleshoot issues.

By completing this workshop, you will be eligible for Open Studio in the 3D printing Department at Talent Maker City.

Meet the instructor, Berkeley Skuratowicz! Berkeley was raised in the Rogue Valley and is a recent graduate of Oregon State University, earning a degree in engineering. She is interested in the intersection of design and technology, and will soon be studying design at San Francisco State University.  One of her main passions is 3D printing; she has spent over 5 years using and maintaining 3D printers. She also loves creating things using CNC machines, woodworking, and metalworking. Some of her other hobbies include reading, mountain biking, rock climbing, and exploring the trails around the Rogue Valley.
