Coffee 'n Clay | Hand Building Techniques

  • Talent Maker City 304 E Main St. Talent, OR 97540 (map)

Grab a coffee from a local coffee shop on your way into town and join us at Talent Maker City for a time to work with clay! You will learn one of several various hand-building techniques to create functional pottery: slabs, coils, pinch pots, and more. Cost includes instruction, clay, and bisque-firing. By completing this workshop, you will be eligible for Handbuilding Open Studio in the Ceramics Department at Talent Maker City.

If you make something at this workshop that you want to keep, here’s what happens next:

  1. Your piece will be dried and bisque-fired within 2-3 weeks after the workshop.

  2. TMC will call you to let you know your piece is ready for glazing.

  3. Help us move into the new building!  If you make a piece that you would like to keep, please sign up for a glaze class ($15), have TMC clear glaze your piece ($10), or pick up your bisque-fired pieces (free) before June 14th.

  4. TMC will give it a final firing and call you to let you know it’s ready to be picked up.

  5. You will enjoy (or get a kick out of) what your hands have made!
