Creative ways to Support Us

Bequests and planned giving

There are several ways to support Talent Maker City’s future with a gift written into your will or trust. Your attorney can review this draft language to ensure it meets your goals and intent. Please ensure you use our legal name “Talent Maker City” and our address.

Bequests

"I give to Talent Maker City, a tax-exempt Oregon non-profit organization currently located at 304 E. Main St. Talent, OR ($insert dollar amount) or (%insert percentage amount) of my estate for its charitable use and purpose.”

Residuary bequests gift a part of your estate after all other bequests have been paid.

“I give to Talent Maker City, a tax-exempt Oregon non-profit organization currently located at 304 E. Main St. Talent, OR (%insert percentage amount) of the residue of my estate for its charitable use and purpose.”

Contingency bequests are given only if the primary beneficiary is unable to accept the asset.

“In the event that (insert name) predeceases me, I give their bequest share to Talent Maker City, a tax-exempt Oregon non-profit organization currently located at 304 E. Main St. Talent, OR for its charitable use and purpose.”

Donating Stocks & Securities

Donating stocks and securities is a great way to support TMC. Often appreciated securities, (stocks, bonds, and mutual funds) can be exempt from or greatly reduce capital gains taxes along with a charitable income tax donation upon their transfer.

Please contact our Development Coordinator Nina Gerona at nina@talentmakercity.org or 541-897-4477 with any questions or intent to donate your stocks and securities.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are 70.5 years of age or older, you may be able to have funds up to $100,000 annually transferred from your IRA account directly to Talent Maker City. Your IRA administrator can transfer funds to Talent Maker City. This may be excluded from your taxable income. For those who are at least 73 years old, QCDs count toward the IRA owner's required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. Please consult your tax advisor for more personalized information.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies appreciate the generosity of their employees and encourage their giving by doubling, or sometimes even tripling the amount you’ve donated with their matching contribution!

Dollars for doers or volunteer matching is another frequent program where companies will provide financial donations for the amount of time you volunteer with us.

Ask your HR representative today if they provide matching gifts, or if they would consider setting up a program!
