A dedication to the deceased
Día De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a two day holiday that reunites the living and dead. This Mexican tradition brings together families and communities to create ofrendas (offerings) to honor their departed family members. The ofrendas or altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos, and the favorite foods and drinks of those who have departed. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods and join in the celebrations!

Día De Los Muertos es una fiesta de dos días que reúne a los vivos y los muertos. Esta tradición mexicana reúne a familias y comunidades para crear Ofrendas para honrar a sus familiares difuntos. Las ofrendas, o altares, están decoradas con flores de cempasuchil de color amarillo brillante, fotos y las comidas y bebidas favoritas de los que se han ido. Se cree que las ofrendas animan la visita de los muertos a la tierra a medida que las almas difuntas escuchan sus oraciones, huelen su comida y se unen a las celebraciones.

Día de los Muertos Community Altar
Tuesday, October 28th- November 4th
Honor and celebrate your ancestors along with the entire Talent community. All are welcome to stop by Talent Maker City to place a photo of your loved one, special offerings, or some marigolds to add your own personal touch to Talent’s Community Altar.
Día de los Muertos Ofrenda comunitaria + celebracíon

Honre y celebre a tus antepasados junto con toda la comunidad de Talent. Todos están invitados a visitar Talent Maker City para colocar una foto de su ser querido, ofrendas especiales o flores de cempasúchil para darle su toque personal a la Ofrenda Comunitaria de Talent.
Creative Community Workshops

Celebrate and have fun with your community with free, creative activities! Paint clay skull calaveras, make some giant marigolds, and decorate frames for photos of your loved ones.

Day of the Dead Race

The streets of Talent will be filled with runners of all ages as part of the Day of the Dead Race annual celebration! Your participation helps bring the community together to celebrate Latin culture, through food, music, dance and art.
