Thank you Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation!

Talent Maker City and Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation have been community partners since 2018 when CCUIF provided “final push” funding to finish building out the woodshop in our Southern Oregon makerspace facility. The grant came at a critical time for our nonprofit and helped establish TMC as a regional hub for creative innovation.

Today, in response to COVID-19, TMC has directed all resources to prototyping and producing 3D-printed personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare professionals who are fighting on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, with limited capacity to print specialized PPE on existing equipment, we knew we needed help to scale quickly and CCUIF answered the call. Today, we’ve introduced two additional Ultimaker 3D printers that have instantly increased our production rate and now allow us to prototype specialized medical components like inline HEPA filters and six-port ventilator adapters that allow a single machine to serve up to six patients.

Filling this very specific, very urgent medical need simply would not be happening without the continued support from CCUIF. On behalf of Talent Maker City and the hundreds of local healthcare professionals directly benefitting from our new 3D printers, thank you Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for the long-standing support for vulnerable populations in our community, the quick response, and for our valued community partnership.
